Third El-Practice Newsletter
Welcome to the third newsletter of the EL-Practice project, which provides an update on the project's progress and initiatives. The last few months have been an intensive time spent working on microsessions and the online platform.
One of the main activities of the project in the last semester was the staff training (C1), which took place in Graz, Austria, from June 26-30, 2023. The training program aimed to provide project partners with a space to collaborate, exchange valuable insights and share best practices in areas such as the education platform and energy and sustainability-related fields.

National Workshop on Energy Literacy in Poland
Environmental education, including adult education, plays an increasingly important role in shaping a sustainable society. On March 3, 2023, workshops dedicated to this topic were held in Krakow, with particular emphasis on the needs of young adults, i.e. people aged 29-39. The participants included representatives of cities, eco-advisors and organizations related to climate protection interested in the development of energy competences. The diversity of the group enabled a wide exchange of experience in acquiring and transferring thematic knowledge.
TOPIC 4: POSITIVE ENERGY-RELATED BEHAVIOURS AND HABITS
The competence in the field of sustainable energy use and environmental protection consists not only of professional information and advanced solutions. Daily habits are the basis for long-term and permanent change. Building them and constantly increasing knowledge means that more and more positive and effective solutions are used in practice. They concern the functioning of our households as well as the lifestyle we lead. The effects become visible thanks to the regularity of their implementation, which results in positive changes for society and the world.
The proper functioning of a household is inextricably linked to the daily use of utilities: electricity, heat and water. These are basic resources whose presence seems to be obvious, which is why we usually do not think about where they come from.

TOPIC 3: ENERGY-RELATED INVESTMENTS, INCENTIVES AND SUBVENTIONS
Going into this winter, energy has become an even more important topic. Not only do we have to ask where our energy is coming from strictly from an environmental standpoint but this year, we ask us “where WILL our energy come from”? A lot of people are putting on extra clothing rather then turning on their heating because it has become more expensive. Energy efficiency has not only become an important tool to fight climate change but also to save money. But does being energy efficient also mean that one is financially efficient? Is it a good idea to invest money in energy efficiency? Are there any incentives and subventions? These questions will be answered in Topic 3 of our e-course on Energy Literacy. This topic consists of 7 subtopics and the knowledge will be transferred in an entertaining and informational manner. In the end you will not only know how to save energy but also how to save money.
